The northern team made both of them on its way to a 16-0 win over the southern team.

Defenses clearly had the upper hand and neither team was loosening its grip.

The biggest play on offense came from Skyline running back Max Asay, who spent much of the night playing out of the slot.

Late in the second quarter , Asay curled to catch a pass from Salmon quarterback Riley Sessions at the Fifth District's 30-yard line. It wasn't the catch, which picked up a couple of yards, that made the play, it was what he did with the ball after the catch.

In a statement today, UNIQLO said it would be making its debut as an anchor tenant at the newly renovated Fahrenheit 88 shopping centre located in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur.

The Japanese company owns 55 per cent of stake while DNP Clothing owns the remaining 45 per cent.

UNIQLO currently has a total of 944 stores worldwide, with 809 of them located in Japan.

The company aims to open more stores in all major cities around the global and will continue to establish itself as a global brand.

Its expansion to Singapore in April last year marked UNIQLO's entry into the South-East Asian market.

This week, a jury awarded $11 million to neighbors of Premium Standard Farms, agreeing with their claims that odors from PSF's manure lagoons prevent them from enjoying their property.

These residents, many of them farmers themselves, no doubt understand as PSF's lawyer pointed out that pigs stink. These residents, however, were living in rural Missouri before PSF moved in and their property rights should not be sacrificed.

Lawsuits have accompanied PSF's 20-year history in Missouri with no end in sight. Attorney Charlie Speer, who has been a part of many of those cases, said, "Nobody wants to live across the street from 80,000 hogs." His remark suggests neighbors will not be satisfied as long as PSF is in operation.

The pork producer operates a vast network of farms and a meat- processing plant in northern Missouri providing jobs for many people. At a public meeting in Princeton last month, residents showed up in pink shirts declaring, "Save PSF."

The company pointed out that it is complying with all federal and state laws. After the jury verdict, the company said it had serious concerns about future investment in Missouri. It also warned that rigorous enforcement of a consent decree from 1999 would cause financial hardship.

Is PSF implying it is too big to fail? Is it saying environmental rules should be adjusted to meet its needs, since it is an economic engine for the region? For the sake of northern Missouri and its citizens, we certainly hope not.

It's a fact PSF has established itself as an integral part of life in Northwest Missouri. Its contributions to the communities of the region and the economy cannot be discounted.

Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster offered some encouragement, noting both jobs and property rights are at issue. "There has to be a balancing of the interests. I believe that that is achievable," he said.

We believe it is, as well, and urge both PSF and its neighbors to renew efforts to resolve their differences outside the courtroom.

Not a club room or a hotel. It's a labour camp in the heart of rural Punjab, where signs of pampering are evident. For, the times have changed. It is peak paddy sowing season and unlike previous years, labourers to work in the field are scarce. The prosperous Punjabi farmer, who had labourers coming in hordes from impoverished villages of central India to work on his fields, now has a tough competitor - the NREGA.

With jobs being created back home under the scheme, few are now willing to undertake back-breaking work, literally, involving hours of bending to plant saplings, submerged knee-deep in the paddy fields in the middle of scorching heat and searing moisture. This has made retaining migratory labour force a big problem for Punjab, which is heavily dependent on farmhands from central India.

Those who have trickled in have realized their worth and are demanding facilities unheard of and the rich farmers are giving in.

Besides the TV, cooler, freshly cooked food and accommodation, the labourers are now welcome to live in the houses of farm-owners and not in some dilapidated tubewell room out in the farm. Wages have also gone up three-fold. Farmers say seasonal wages have increased from a mere Rs 700 to Rs 2,000-Rs 2,500 per acre, in just about two years.

For labourers arriving at the Rajpura railway station in trains from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, it is something their predecessors never could dream of here. The situation is no different in the rest of the state where migratory labourers were always preferred over local farm hands for the cheap wages that they asked for.

The shortage of migrant labour is forcing farmers to camp at railway stations. As trains halt, its a signal for the waiting farmer to start a race and jostle with other farmers to convince migrants by offering good wages, food and even entertainment.

''Just five years ago, not a single farmer ever bothered to visit the railway station as groups of migrants used to go from door-to-door asking for work,'' says Gurnam Singh, a farmer who has been waiting at the station for more than 24 hours to put together his work force.

''I have managed to hire just eight migrants after waiting 24 hours Tiffanys Heart at the station. I have offered them a room with a cooler and television. They threatened they would leave my fields if I didn't provide all that was promised,'' said Sukhwinder Singh from Mavi village.

And, the cut-throat competition among Punjabi farmers to hire labourers can put an MNC to shame. With farmers poaching on others, many have appointed men to specially guard hired labourers round the clock. There have been reports of farmers luring migrant labour by offering them higher wages.

''I have asked the permanent labourers on my farm not to let them to talk to other farmers. My neighbours are offering higher wages than me and more facilities,'' said Darshan Singh, a farmer from Kakarala village.

''Our children do not want to join us in the fields. So, we have to depend on labour force from outside,'' he says.

She had pleaded guilty to the same offence but the prosecution had accepted that she was not involved in using the plastic bag.

Yates, who the court heard had a string of previous convictions including for violence, also admitted common assault after spitting in the face a police officer after she had been arrested. Both Yates and Green had been drinking before the incident.

Patricia Doggett, prosecuting said that Mr O'Brien had been asleep on the floor of a room at Rockfield House, Newmarket when there had been a knock at the door at about 2am on the morning of September 24 last year.

The door had been opened by another occupant of the room Kevin Docherty, said Miss Doggett, which resulted in Green and Yates together with two other people walking in.

The two other people were not involved in the incident.

Miss Doggett said that Green had picked up a plastic bag and pulled it over Mr O'Brien's head while standing on his hands which had been behind him for support from his place on the floor. Green then repeatedly punched and kicked Mr O'Brien to the head and body before

It was while Mr Docherty left the room to call the police that the
attack resumed with Yates joining in, said Miss Doggett, also kicking him.

When Mr Docherty returned he found Mr O'Brien covered in blood and it was later discovered that he had suffered a 5cm long cut to his head which required five stitches and may have been caused by a large ring being worn by Green.

"They began treatment, but he went into cardiac arrest and passed away sometime between 3 and 4 in the afternoon," said Janet Frank, Intermountain Healthcare spokeswoman for Utah County.

The Lacayo home on Goldenrod Way near 1700 North and 1100 West was quarantined, along with the Intermountain clinic. The quarantine on the house was lifted at about 10:30 p.m.

About 24 clinic employees and patients were placed under quarantine, and eight employees underwent decontamination. Quarantine at the clinic was lifted about 8 p.m. and the eight employees were taken to American Fork Hospital for final medical clearance, Frank said.

Police said Lacayo family members were being monitored for any change in health.

Octavio Lacayo, 36, said his brother leaves behind a wife, Yolanda, and three children, ages 6, 2 and 8 months. He described Mauricio as a "good guy" who was "always willing to help anyone out." He said his brother wanted to become a paramedic and had volunteered for the Eagle Mountain Police Department.

"What hurts the most is to see him go, as far as I'm concerned, way before his time," he said.

Octavio said he and his daughter spent the weekend with Mauricio and his family, and they got together Monday night at the home of another brother in Springville.

"I wish last night I would have told him I love him," he said Tuesday.

Family said that Yolanda Lacayo was given sedatives to "calm down and sleep."

"She's having a hard time," Octavio said. "I think she's still in denial."

Hazmat crews from Orem, Lehi and Camp Williams were on the scene to assist in the investigation.

Quaint charm was not, however, what French President Nicolas Sarkozy had in mind the other day when he announced that the world should shift from measuring each nation's relative success in term of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and instead factor in happiness, long holidays and links of london charms a sense of well being.

He was serious. He had just unveiled a report from a commission he had created with the American economist Joseph Stiglitz as its head. Stiglitz is no newcomer to public policy. He served as head of the Council of Economic Advisers in the Clinton Administration and was once chief economist at the World Bank. He also holds a Nobel Prize in economics and he is a professor at New York University.

The Stiglitz Commission concluded that GDP is a flawed way to measure economic output. It its place it proposes to create two tracks, one measuring the state of a country's economy and natural resources and the other measuring "net national income" (including profits sexy lingerie china exported and imported) and "household income" (including taxes, social benefits and bank interest). It would also find a way to measure the value of such subjective things as leisure, happiness, health, education, social connections, the environment, insecurity and political systems. Professor Jean-Paul Fitoussi, coauthor of the report, says that taking into account France's social safety net, especially its generous unemployment insurance, would reduce the gap between the U.S. and France by another fifth.

According to Henry Guai锟給, Sarkozy's speechwriter, the president is fixated on raising the trend of France's growth rate by a full percentage point. Sarkozy, in his speech, decried what he calls "the cult of figures." Calling for more of the same today, Hood said: "We had a very poor first half on Tuesday, but after the break we were vastly improved, and I thought very good overall.

"We didn't get into the tackles or the rucks enough, we didn't compete physically and we were overrun a little bit.

"I spoke to the players at the break and I talked about how it is easy to say the right things, but doing them is something completely different.

"And to their credit they stood up to the task of turning things around.

"They weren't happy with their effort either, and they knew what needed to change really. "But they managed to turn things around very well - they stood up to the physicality, they were competitive in the tackle and the collisions, and really got in Widnes' faces in the rucks.

"We gave away a lot less penalties because of the improvements in play in the second half and that all told on the scoreboard.
