Four arrested in shop robbery

MONTCLAIR Five people took $1,200 worth of merchandise from a bridal store, assaulted a woman and got caught in Porcelain Bangle the parking lot, authorities said.

At 3:45 p.m. Thursday, the group went into Roxy's Bridal in the 4400 block of Holt Boulevard and appeared to be shopping for a dress, according to a Montclair police news release.

The four women and one man positioned themselves so they could monitor the employees. One person stole two purses and a dress from the front-desk area, put them inside a large handbag and left through the front door.

A woman at the shop followed the suspected thief to the Porcelain Rings parking lot. When she confronted the person, the woman was hit in the chest area and scratched on the back by the group, police said.

Four people in the group - Miriam Andrade, 37; Maria Elena Martinez, 27; Carlos Monterosa Martinez, 26; and Nidia Rosa Barahona, 34, all of Los Angeles - were positively identified by the victim, police said.
